A grandmother who accidentally texted a teenager an invitation to Thanksgiving in 2016 will spend yet another holiday with Jamal Hinton and his family, he confirmed on Twitter

The tradition started when Wanda Dench, now 62, thought she was texting her grandson to invite him to Thanksgiving at her house. She was really texting Hinton, now 20.

Dench, who is from Mesa, Ariz., texted Hinton with the details for the Thanksgiving to dinner she was hosting at her house. When Hinton didn’t recognize the phone number, he asked her for a photo to confirm it was his grandma. The picture he received wasn’t Hinton’s grandma, but it didn’t stop him from accepting the invitation.

“Can I still get a plate, though?” Hinton asked.

Dench replied, “Of course you can. That’s what grandmas do … feed everyone.”

Hinton, who is from Phoenix, Ariz., posted the text exchange on Twitter at the time, which quickly went viral.
